It was a great weekend for the York Toros who recently hosted its annual tournament at the Pavilion. There was a lots of great hockey action all weekend long. Unfortunately, the host teams were only able to claim one title.

The Minor Bantam Toros took home the championship prize beating the Markham Waxers 4-0 in the final. The Toros were the only undefeated team in the round-robin.

In the other divisions, the Toros weren’t as fortunate but many of the teams battled hard. In the Minor Atom division, the Toros finished third and it was the Whitby Wildcats who took the crown. The Wildcats beat the Toronto East Enders 4-2 in the final. The East Enders went through the round-robin undefeated (3-0-1) but ultimately lost to the Wildcats, who had two wins and two ties.

In the Minor Peewee draw, the Suburban Stars won a double overtime thriller to defeat the Milton Winter Hawks. The Burlington Eagles shutout the Ottawa Valley Silver Seven 1-0 in the semifinals of the Peewee Division and then went on to beat Gloucester Rangers 2-1 in the final.

The Olympiques Outaouais were very dominant en route to their Bantam title. The Outaouais made short work of the Brampton Battalion 4-0 in the semifinal and then the visitors handily defeated Goulding Park Rangers 5-1 to earn the victory.

In the oldest division in the tournament, the Brampton Battalion defeated the Toronto East Enders 3-2 to take home the title.
